Microsoft’s Steve Berkowitz to Deliver Keynote Address at Search Engine Strategies (SES) New York 2007
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Incisive Media announced today that web search veteran Steve Berkowitz, Senior Vice President of Microsoft’s Online Services Group, will be the keynote speaker at New York’s premier search engine marketing event. Berkowitz—known for his role in the launch of Microsoft Live Search—will talk with conference chair Danny Sullivan about Microsoft's moves and ambitions in search.
Steve Berkowitz will deliver a keynote address during the upcoming Search Engine Strategies (SES) Conference & Expo 2007 at the Hilton New York. Now in its eighth year, SES New York will kick off April 10 and will feature more than 75 sessions and intensive workshops with the industry’s top search experts. For four days, the industry converges for spirited discussion, high-level learning, and actionable battle plans to go forward with for their companies. Berkowitz is scheduled to speak on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.
Berkowitz leads marketing, sales, and business development relating to Microsoft’s online services, including MSN.com and Windows Live. Previously, he was CEO of Ask.com (a web property of IAC Search & Media), where he is credited with building the management team that orchestrated the turnaround of Ask.com. In September 2001, he made the critical decision to acquire Teoma Technologies and integrate their unique approach to web search into the Ask Jeeves flagship properties. His vision led to steady growth in user satisfaction and a tripling of the company’s revenues during his tenure until the company was acquired in March 2005 by IAC/InterActiveCorp.
“Over the last year, we have been privileged to secure top authorities from the industry’s most prominent search engines to speak at SES,” said Matt McGowan, VP of Marketing for Incisive Media. “In representing Microsoft, Steve’s enthusiasm to speak in New York brings full circle the high caliber of keynote addresses SES is proud to deliver in educating the search community.”
With search industry experts from around the world gathered to offer timely insights, Search Engine Strategies provides a forum for the entire industry to discuss today’s challenges and evaluate the industry’s trends. SES New York will teach the ins-and-outs of search engine marketing through top search experts along with representatives from the search engines themselves.
“I’m looking forward to participating in this unique gathering of search industry professionals and discussing Microsoft’s vision for growth and differentiation in our Web search efforts,” said Berkowitz. “Collaboration is key for the success of our industry, and conferences like SES play a major role in bringing together search engine marketers and providers and fostering the growth of our marketplace.”
