Kate serves as LookSmart's Vice President, Editor-in-Chief. Kate is
responsible for the building of all Looksmart directories, directory tool development, and
Express Submit. From September 1998 to October 1999, she was the chief ontologist. Prior to joining LookSmart, Kate held positions as librarian, press assistant, legislative
analyst and congressional aide. Kate holds a BA in classical studies from
the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master of library and information studies from the
University of California, Berkeley.
