Mark Cordover

Mark Cordover is CEO and founder of IT.com, a new vertical search engine that delivers natural results focused exclusively on enterprise IT. IT.com uses a proprietary search algorithm that imitates the process of peer review, in order to help technology decision-makers find the best solutions available on the Web objectively and comprehensively.
Mr. Cordover works extensively at the intersection of Finance and Technology, co-founding a portfolio management software company in 1983 (AFS Trade), helping to make successful the first Internet Service Provider (PSINet) in the mid '90's, and seed financing the first online customer service software company (BEI) in 1997. In 1983, he started a hedge fund to arbitrage a new non-deliverable basket of fixed-income securities into a futures contract. He went on to effect the first trial of IP over coax (internet over cable TV lines) in 1995 in Cambridge Massachusetts, participating in the beginning of the disintermediation of the PTTs, and the building of the converged network. In Europe, he established a joint venture to provide an IP backbone throughout the continent over the Hermes Railtel railroad rights-of-way.
