Nan Dawkins is co-founder of RedBoots Consulting.

Armed with over 20 years experience in marketing communications, deep roots in conventional advertising methods, and a track record of solid online wins, Ms. Dawkins brings a unique combination of experience to her clients, including The Pew Charitable Trusts, Strategies for the Global Environment, The American Diabetes Association, CARE, and the Pew Internet and American Life Project.

Ms. Dawkins began her career at J. Walter Thompson/Washington, working on the national advertising campaigns of retail and consumer products accounts such as Burger King and Ford Motor Company. She opened her own advertising agency in the 1980's, where she created the highly successful "If you drive an Acura, you'll buy an Acura" television ads. Ms. Dawkins' interest in politics led her back to graduate school in the early 90's. After earning a Masters Degree in Public Policy at George Washington University, she applied her communications experience to the nonprofit arena where she created one of the first internet advocacy projects on economic development issues and a virtual community for an international network of women leaders.

Prior to the launch of RedBoots, Ms. Dawkins spent two years as an internet strategist at AppNet, where she specialized in online fundraising and advocacy for clients such as NARAL, Planned Parenthood, The Trust for Public Land, and The Feminist Majority Foundation. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of online outreach techniques for nonprofit organizations.

Ms Dawkins' personally raises money for various nonprofit causes by competing in endurance sports events each year. In 2003, she completed the Ironman on behalf of The American Diabetes Association, a RedBoots client.
