Gavin Appel has been actively involved with the Internet since 1995, specializing in the emerging area of online marketing. As Vice President of Search at Hitwise, Gavin leverages his expertise in Search to further develop the Hitwise competitive intelligence products that it delivers to its clients worldwide.
Prior to this, Gavin was General Manager of Sinewave Interactive – a leading Search Engine Marketing company in Asia Pacific where he worked with leading corporate marketers to develop successful search engine strategies.
Gavin began his career working for the Beam Group of Companies, Australia's largest software and multimedia developers, successfully developing and implementing a range of search engine optimization strategies designed to support each division within the organization. In early 1998 Gavin co-founded Lifelounge Pty. Ltd. which specializes in connecting extreme sports and lifestyle content with the youth market. Lifelounge’s success in connecting with the youth enables the company to provide marketing and communication solutions to corporate companies seeking to target the illustrious youth market.
