Kevin HaasKevin Haas is a senior software engineering manager with Yahoo! Search and is responsible for leading search projects such as SearchMonkey, an initiative that is central to Yahoo! Search's efforts towards promoting a more structured Web. Using structured data, Yahoo! and external developers can enhance Yahoo! Search results by including additional information such as key/value pairs, quick links, and images. Kevin has also managed teams at Yahoo! focused on entity extraction from web pages, webmaster relations, and building large-scale object stores.
Prior to joining Yahoo!, Kevin was a senior engineering manager at IBM Almaden Research Center, responsible for both the WebFountain research group and the Semantic Supercomputing team, which extracted and analyzed large amounts of unstructured and semi-structured text from web pages and text documents.
Kevin received his M.S. degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
