John Piscitello is responsible for the product definition and development of
the Google Search Appliance and Google Web APIs. The Google Search Appliance
is a hardware / software solution that brings Google's search technology to
company websites and intranets. The Google Web APIs service enables
developers to query Google's index of more than 2 billion documents directly
from their computer programs.
Prior to Google, Piscitello was a Senior Business Manager at AltaVista
Company, where he managed the worldwide roadmap, strategy, and messaging
for AltaVista Search Engine 3.0 software. Before AltaVista, Piscitello
worked
as a software engineer developing Macintosh-based professional music
software products for Mark of the Unicorn, Inc., and worked as a Senior
Product Manager for Solaris system administration tools for Sun
Microsystems, Inc.
Piscitello earned a bachelor's of science and a master's of science degree
in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology and a master's in Business Administration from Harvard Business
School.
