Jason Fischel
Vice President, Partnerships & Promotions
CNET Networks, Inc.

Jason Fischel, vice president of Partnerships & Promotions at CNET Networks Inc., is responsible for user acquisition, network cross-promotion, and searching across CNET Network properties. In this capacity, Fischel runs CNET Search.com and WebFerret searching products. Search.com was one of the first major search engines to place paid search listings on their search results page and has been a pioneer in paid listings arena. Additionally, Fischel is responsible for CNET Networks strategic partnerships including its relationships with MSN, Overture, Google, About.com, and others.

Previously at CNET Networks, Fischel held key roles that add to his experiences in advertising and sales. As Managing Director of Ad Operations, Fischel was responsible for all aspects of ad production, ad serving, inventory, pricing, account services and ad trafficking. In March of 1997 when Fischel started with CNET, he served as the National Accounts Director, where he built and managed CNET's inside sales team and became more strategically involved in the company's revenue stream.

Prior to joining CNET, Fischel was the Director of Marketing at MarketSource Interactive, a marketing company with a network of web sites targeted to college students. Starting at MarketSource in 1995, Fischel experienced the Internet in its infancy and was able to be an integral part of its expansion. In August of 1995, he managed the launch of the most successful web site in terms of initial ad dollars at that time. In 1997, Fischel also helped launch "Virtual Dorm," a web site that displayed live footage from web cams placed in university dorms. This novel idea landed Fischel interviews on CNNfn and in the Wall Street Journal where he was dubbed a "Web Weaver."

Fischel also worked for IBM in PC sales in colleges and universities where he worked closely with IBM's "Education Kiosk" in conjunction with the University of Washington. He used this opportunity to post IBM product information on the Internet.

Fischel has served on the Board of Directors for Internet Advertising Bureau. He received a degree in Marketing with a concentration in MIS from the University of Texas at Austin.
