Marketers Flock to Hear Google CEO Schmidt at Search Engine Strategies (SES) San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. - August 9, 2006 - Thousands of attentive marketers turned out earlier today to hear insights from Google's CEO in "A Conversation with Eric Schmidt" at this week's Search Engine Strategies (SES) Conference & Expo. The show, running through tomorrow at San Jose's McEnery Convention Center, drew many thousands of marketers--25% growth over last year--who gathered to the jam-packed session to hear Schmidt discuss Google's growth in tandem with challenges as the company continues to expand.

Schmidt, responding to questions from world-renowned search authority and SES event chair Danny Sullivan, noted the company's focus on providing advertisers with measurable ads and suggested that targeted measurable TV and radio ads are just beginning. Recapping the recent Google deals with MTV and MySpace, Schmidt pointed out that the Google ad system can be employed for every form of advertising, and there is substantial opportunity to provide value to both advertisers and consumers with more targeted, relevant ads. On the controversial issue of click fraud, Schmidt commented that Google has it "under control."

"It was great to have Eric come out for the event and spend time sharing his views on search with our attendees," said Sullivan, who also heads up SearchEngineWatch.com. "Google is a giant force for so many of them who turn to it for traffic or earn from it by carrying Google ads. Hearing from the very top ranks at Google makes their day."

The premier global Search Engine Strategies conference series addresses timely search engine marketing and optimization issues in a forum that draws marketers both skilled in search marketing and those new to it.
