Search Engine Strategies China Conference to Tout Potential of Search Marketing in Asia and Beyond

Google's Johnny Chou, Alibaba/Yahoo CEO Jack Ma to Keynote

Nanjing, China - March 13, 2006 - Search Engine Strategies (SES) Conference & Expo in China kicks off later this week as leading search experts describe how search marketers can potentially reach vast Asian markets and an untapped worldwide audience. China is expected to have the largest online population within the next five years, according to several analysts.

The premier global search industry conference series addresses search engine marketing and optimization alongside a plethora of search-related topics. The conference takes place March 17 and 18 at the Nanjing International Exhibition Center in Nanjing, China.

The conference features keynote addresses by both Google's Greater China President of Sales and Business Development Johnny Chou and Alibaba/Yahoo CEO Jack Ma.

"Google China is making efforts by helping search engines marketers in China leverage the power of targeted search engine marketing," said Johnny Chou, Greater China President of Sales and Business Development with Google. "We are thrilled by the fact that people use Google's portfolio products to grow their businesses with a healthy return on their investments. We believe Google is extremely well positioned to lead the industry in targeted marketing."

SES China will also feature numerous engaging presentations by top search industry experts. For attendees, it's a rare opportunity to learn how search engines list websites for free and through paid placement, how to gain free "organic" traffic by building a site that pleases search engines, how to guarantee top ranking in search engine results, and much more.

"We're at the forefront of examining how search will develop China's economy as well as benefit the people of China," said Chris Sherman, event chairperson and executive editor of SearchEngineWatch.com. "SES China is an important event for anyone doing business in China or involved in multi-national search engine marketing and optimization."

As a burgeoning Internet market, China's online revenues were valued at $69 billion last year, according to a survey by the China Internet Development Research Center. In addition, Wall Street analysts predict that China could have the world's leading online commerce by 2010.

"We have been experiencing fast Internet development in China, especially the development of search engines. This search event will enhance this industry with both domestic and international professionals," said Mr. Huang Chengqing, Secretary General of Internet Society of China (ISC). "The Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo China is amazing and we really appreciate all the efforts ISAS and the Incisive team have done for this first SES China show."

The SES conferences are hosted globally with shows planned this year in Munich, Tokyo, Toronto, Milan, London, Miami, San Jose and Chicago. The highly successful SES New York conference wrapped up earlier this month and drew more than 5,500 attendees and 30 percent growth in exhibitor companies. Conference sessions proved to be lively forums for discussion on timely topics such as search privacy and click fraud.
