Andrei Broder is Vice President for Research and Chief Scientist at the AltaVista Company. Previously he has been CTO of the B2B Search Solutions division at AltaVista and a senior member of the research staff at Compaq's Systems Research Center. He was graduated Summa cum Laude from Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology, and holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. He has co-authored more than 60 scientific papers and numerous patents. His main research interests are the design, analysis, and implementation of probabilistic algorithms and supporting data structures, in particular in the context of web-scale information retrieval and applications.
